Remembering Easter
Cyclone asked why Jesus was teaching His friends about gardening.
Grandma said, “Boys, these flowers have died, but before that, they produced the seed that will make a bunch of new flowers. Jesus teaches us, it is necessary for plants like these flowers to die so that new ones will have life.

Teased
The younger boy, John, spoke up and said, "He said you are the teacher's pet and are privileged. You make us look bad by your answering all of the questions Mr. Arnold asks."
I knew that John had added to what Rick had said because his reply was longer than Rick's original statement. But It was obvious they both felt the same way.

Why Thanksgiving?
I kept wondering and asked Grandpa, "Why is Thanksgiving just once a year? We have so much to be grateful for, so how can we limit it to one Thursday near the end of November, every year? I am so blessed I can’t even think of all of the ways God is good to me."

Grandma’s Garden
Grandma had planted many pretty flowers in her garden, but it got unusually hot this summer. Her assortment included a large variety of flowers, including petunias, marigolds, roses, pansies and more. Because it was so hot, the flowers needed to be watered nearly every day.

Dealing With Disappointment
It was hot that mid July afternoon as Grandpa and I came in from loading our big red pickup. He had his arm over my shoulder as we talked about the camping trip we would be leaving for in the morning. This was going to be special as we were going alone. Bertha was helping our church with Vacation Bible School and Bella and Cyclone were both attending. I would have enjoyed VBS but Grandpa needs someone to stay with him to make sure he is well. He also needs help do the camp chores. As Grandpa's partner and an experienced camper, I am getting pretty good at that.
